AUCKLAND OVERSEAS CLUB
ACTIVITIES TO BE RESUMED.
A movement was made Jast evening to resuscitate the activities of tho Auckland Overseas Club, tho local branch of the Overseas League, established throughout the Empire by Mr. Evelyn Wrench for the fostering of (ho Imperial spirit. In the early years of the war the club showed considerable energy in the Auckland piovincial district, and was instrumental in raising £2760, with which the aeroplane, Auckland 1., was purchased and presented to the Imperial authorities. For some ye;us, however, it has been inactive. Last night's meeting was convened and presided over by Mr. Horace H. llunt, the honorary corresponding secretary of the league, and was well attended. A resolution was passed favouring tho revivification of the club. A committee, consisting of Captain TL Freeman-Greene, Messrs. H. .H. Hunt, A. Coyte. M. H. Muglisfcon, F. W. Weston, W. B. Missin, Miss McClymoitt and Mrs. Bischoff Barriball, was appointed to further the object, and will enter upon direct endeavours after the holidays. Mr. Hunt agreed to retain the honorary secretaryship tor the present.
