Gifts of stock for the Whangarei .Agricultural and Pastoral Society's stock "drive" have been remarkably good. The third sale of stock donated for the purpose of reducing or wiping out the society's indebtedness, took place at Whangarei yesterday, when 50 head of cattle realised £212 8s 9d, bringing the total in hand to well over £600. In one instance a heifer worth about 30s was sold and resold so often that the final figure received for the beast was 11 guineas. Other sales aro to follow.
