UNUSUAL HABITS REVEALED.
An inquest concerning the death of Mary Spirber, whoso, body was found at s e , the foot of a cliff at Shelly Beach, Pon- I sonby, on Thursday, was onentd beforo I Mr. W. R. McKcan, S.M., yesterday. A police report stated that deceased, who was 45 years of age, had kept an apartment house in Shelly Beach Road. I She was heard passing the back of her J premises at 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Tho body was at the foot of a cliff 40 feet ■ligli, and appeared to have been washed in by the tide. William Hamlin Barr, drainlayer, stated that ho knew deceased as the proprietress of the boarding house. He saw her last on Wednesday evening. She was addicted to drugs, but did not drink, and she held a nurse's diploma.. Witness knew that de~ ceased had been in the habit of going for a walk along the beach at about two o'clock in the morning. He was of tho opinion that the drugs upset her mental balance upou occasions. He had occasion to speak to toe police about deceased a fortnight ago. The inquest was adjourned.
