OBITUARY.
MR. RICHARD WARNOCK.
The death occurred afc his residence, Richmond Avenue, Grey Lynn, yesterday morning, of Mr. Richard Warnock, at the age of 81 years. Mr. Warnock, who had been in failing health for some time, was born in Belfast, Ireland, and arrived in Auckland in 1862 with his brothers, Messrs. R. T. and William Warnock. The three brothers, after serving as volunteers in the Maori war, founded the firm of Warnock Brothers, soap and candle manufacturers, then located at the rear of the present Federal Hall in Lower Vincent Street. The business was later removed to Richmond, where a tanning department was added. He has always been a supporter of AH Saints' Church, Ponsonby. Mrs. Warnock, who was a daughter of Mr. John Finlay, predeceased him. He is survived by four sons, Messrs. John, Andrew, Robert and Ernest Warnock, and one daughter. The interment will take place at Ptirewa Cemetery to-morrow afternoon.
MRS. SARAH ANN BICKERS. Mrs. Sarah Ann Bickers, for many years postmistress at Rehia, North Auckland, died recentlv at the residence of her brother, Mr. T. B. Rogers, Mount Albert, in her 78th year. Born at Grantham, England, Mrs. Bickers was the daughter of the editor of the Grantham Journal and came to New Zealand with her parents in the ship William Miles in 1862. Prior to her marriage to Mr. John Bickers, of Thames, she had many varied experiences a3 a governess in the back blocks. Until the death of her husband she resided at Thames and Auckland, removing then with a young family to Rehia, where she was postmistress for 20 years. During recent vears she was in very delicate health. Airs. Bickers is survived by turec sons, 15 grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren.
