Mr. Justice Herdman returns to Auckland to-day,' the Supreme Court sessions at Hamilton having concluded yesterday.
Mr. Frederick G. King has been appointed Registrar of Electors for the Raglan district, and Mr. Robert G. May for Franklin.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Irving, of Wellington, Mr. H. Angell, of Chnstchurch, and Mr. J. McEnnis, of Whangarei, are at the Royal Hotel.
Mr. W. J. Poison, president of the Now Zealand Farmers' Union, arrived in Auckland by car last evening. He is at the Central Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Dugmpre, of Bulawayo, South Africa, who have been visiting" the Dominion, left by'the Marama for Sydney yesterday.
Mr. F. C. Ellis was yesterday admitted as a solicitor of the Supremo Court by Mr. Justico Stringer on the motion of Mr. R. G. Sellar.
Sir George and Lady Fen wick, of Dunedin, left Sydnev yesterday for Auckland by the Maheno, according to a Press Association cablogram.
Mr. A. C. Thompson, manager of the Motu branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the Putaruru branch, which is now nearing completion.
Sir Sam Fay and Sir Vincent Raven, who have concluded their work in connection with reporting on the Now Zealand Railways, left Wellington yesterday by the Ulimaroa for Sydney.
Messrs. Hope D. Gibbons and 0. R. Bendall, of Wellington, Mr. T. A. Choate, of Tauranga, Mr. J. Bell, of Hastings, and Mr. H. B. Douslin, of Rotorua, are at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. Justice Reed, who is at present at Gisborne, will arrive in Auckland on Monday afternoon by the Rotorua express. He will hear civil actions in the Supreme Court from Tuesday until the end of tho sessions.
Mr. S. Sorensen, agricultural adviser to the Government of Denmark, attached to the Danish Legation at Washington, leaves Wellington by the Tainui this morning for tho Argentine, in continuation of his world tour.
Mr. H. Buckleton, general manager of tho Bank of New Zealand, will leave for London on holiday leave in February. The good wishes of the shareholders were extended to him at the half-yearly meeting in Wellington yesterday, During his absence Mr. 1. E. Corkill, chief inspector, will act as general manager.
