In proposing the toast of tho Imperial Economic Committee at a dinner given by the Imperial Shipping Committee at the Carlton Hotel, the President of the Board of Trade, Sir P. Cunliffe-Lister Sir P. Lloyd-Greame) said it was designed to assist tho marketing of Dominion produce in Britain and help tho common interests of tho producers and the consumers. • •
The Economic Committee would not only servo these interes s, said the Minister, but it would provide more cargo and enable the shipowrx i's to give reasonable freights.
Sir H. J. Mack in der, chairman of tho Imperial Shipping Committee, presided. Sir Joseph Cook and Sir James Alien, High Commissioners for Australia and New Zealand, were among those present.
