WAITOA ROAD PROPOSAL
<m LOAN FOR BITUMEN. LENGTH OF SEVEN MILES. [bv telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE AROEA. Thursday. A largely-attended meeting of Waito* settlers was held to receive a report and specifications in connection with a. bitumen roading scheme for No. 7 road at Waitoa. The engineer, Mr. Gibbs> estimated the cost of a 12ft road, with substantial shoulders of metal, at £14,000 for seven miles of roading. After lengthy discussion a motion was carried approving of the loan, and the chairman, Mr. Walters, and the engineer were instructed to at once proceed with the matter of obtaining a loan.
