YACHTING RACES.

AKARANA YAOHT CLUB. .. - CRUISING AND HARBOUR EVENTS. The Akarana Yacht Club will hold a series of cruising and harbour raced tomorrow afternoon. The keel yachts, j 26ft., 22ft., 20ft., 18ft, (class V) and j ! 16ft. classes will race to Awaroa Bay, j SWaiheke, while classes M, T, X and Y j Will race over harbour courses. All tho races will start between the j eastern end of King's Wharf and the j launch Speedwell moored north. In the evening a social and dance will be held in Gordon's Hall. The club's orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. P. Payne and a number of artists, will ;.. '<. supply the musical programme. Among the various harbour events is a race for the American-designed, Star class. One of the' boats, the June, has already been launched and an effort is being made to get the Ola V. afloat today, in which case these two boats will be" seen racing. The third boat, tho Moa, is not yet completed. The officials in charge of the racing will be:—Starter: Mr. W. A. Wilkinson; timekeeper: Mr, G. E. Laycock; judge ' for harbour races, Mr. W. A.
