SEPARATION AND DESERTION.
I'm: telegraph.—o\vx cor respondent.] CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. In the Supreme Court sitting in divorce to-day, Rita Muriel Wheeler asked for a dissolution of her marriage with Hugh Bernard Wheeler, army officer, of Auckland. Petitioner said she was married in November, 1912. On August 4, 1921. a deed of separation was entered into, and since that date the parties had lived apart. There were two children of the marriage. Thomas Gregory Russell, father of pet> titioner, said that his daughter had lived apart from her husband since 1921. Witness had maintained the children. A decree nisi was granted, petitioner to have custody of the children. Fourteen years ago. Harry William Rouse, fireman, of Auckland, left his wife in Christchurch, and today the wife. Emma Frances Rouse, asked for a divorce on the grounds of desertion. Petitioner said her husband had gone to the North Island in 1910, and she had had to support herself since. Percy Rouse, brother of respondent, said the petitioner had been supporting herself for the last 12 or 14 years. A decree nisi was grantrd on the usual term-. HAMILTON APPLICATIONS.
