THEFT OF A PARROT.
OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL.
PLEA OF DRUNKENNESS.
A charge of stealing a parrot, valued at £5 on account of its vocal accomplishments, was admitted by Richard Bryant, aged 46. in the Folico Court yesterday before Mr. J. W, Poynton, S.M.
Constable Hinton said accused stole the parrot from a relative and sold it for 10s.
Accused: T was drunk at. the time. Give me a chance. I will take out a prohibit ion order and cut out the drink altogether. After referring to Bryant's list of 42 previous convictions, the magistrate imposed a sentence of one month's imprisonment.
