NEW ZEALAND SHOW.
" RATHER STODGY DISPLAY."
IMAGINATION LACKING.
" 'though the New Zealand part of the Wembley Exhibition was fairly well done," said Dr. J. Blackmore, of Christchurch, who arrived by the Niagara yesterday, "it really was not very impressive. It was what one might call stodgy in arrangement. There was a groat deal of mutton and produce, jam, ctc., but not a great deal of imagination was shown in displaying the things. Canada and Australia did very well indeed. They had fine buildings, and a fine lot of exhibits, well shown. The exhibition itself was a great eye-opener as regards what can be done and produced inside the Empire." Referring to journalistic enterprise or the lack of it, in London, Dr. Blackmore said that only one newspaper, the Daily Mail, regularly provided Dominion news during the exhibition period. Ho was not particularly attracted by the Daily Mail, but becauso of the two columns of Dominion cablegrams it published every day, which usually included items from New Zealand, ho always bought the paper. As soon as tho exhibition was over this feature was dropped.
