ALLEGATION OF BURGLARY.
NORTH HAMILTON BANK.
WILLIAMS REFUSED BAIL-

HAMILTON. Monday.
A middle-aged man, named James Henry Williams, appeared before Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., to-day, charged with breaking and entering the Hamilton North Bank and stealing £3 7s 3d in money, £2 5s in postal notes, and a cash box valued at 30a. Detective Sweeney applied for a remand for a week.
Accused asked for bail, b it the application was opposed. Accused said lie had been arrested on suspicion btcause he had been previously convicted. He did not think he had been treated fairly. Detective Sweeney said he preferred not to mention the reasons why he opposed bail. Ho believed a prima facie case could be made out against accused. Bail was refused.
