PAINT AND POWDER.
VICAR'S CONDEMNATION. WOMAN'S NATURAL BEAUTY. Sun. LONDON. Dec. 4. " Bless their dear hearts. I am no woman hater," writes the Rev. Welles-ley-Orr, vicar of Kingston Hill, in the Daily Mail, replying to accusations arising out of his condemnation of women's paint and powder. "It is because we don't hate them, but dislike seeing them spoiling God's gift of natural beauty by artificial aids. There is nothing on earth more pleasing than a beautiful woman, and nothing more hideous than a woman disfigured by paint and powder inartistically . applied. " Some women are constantly changing their appearance. Their husband's live in dread of arrest for bigamy. Many women — also men — would be far better looking if they used nature's face cream — water."
