AUCKLAND WEEKLY NEWS.

JELLICOE FAREWELL NUMBER

A SUPERB SOUVENIR.

PUBLICATION ON WEDNESDAY.

A splendid souvenir issue pi the Auckland Weekly News, to commemorate Viscount Jellicoe's term of office as Gov-ernor-General of New Zealand, will be published on Wednesday. His conduct of the office as the King's representative for four years has won the hearts of the people, and this special number -will be, in all respects, a fitting pictorial record of his sojourn in New Zealand. It is bound to be received with the greatest enthusiasm throughout the Dominion. Included with the issue is a beautifullyexecuted presentation plate of the popular Governor-General's portrait, in two colours. A most striking likeness is faithfully reproduced and doubtless many readers will have their copies framed. The centre double-page is devoted to an excellent series of photographs portraying typical phases of His Excellency's activities, both in public and private life during his term of office. Pictures of historic interest show Viscount Jellicoe's arrival in New Zealand as GovernorGeneral and His Excellency performing the ceremony of opening his final Parliament in the Dominion. On the frontispiece are full-length portraits of the Gov-ernor-General and the Viscountess Jellicoe, specially autographed and surmounted by the family coat-of-arms. Another very fine page gives portraits of the members of the Governor-General's family, together with pictures of the Vice-Regal residences in New Zealand. " Famous admiral and enthusiastic yachtsman" is the title of another page which shows Viscount Jellicoe's mighty flagship, Iron Duke, and His Excellency racing on the Waitemata in his yacht of the same name.

A most pleasing series illustrates a happv summer holiday enjoyed by their Excellencies and family at Muriwai, while the farewell visit to Auckland is well recorded by pictures of the official function in the Town Hall: a final golf match at Middlemore; departure from the Ellerslie racecourse and a rousing send off from the boys of King's College. Not the least interesting of the photographs are official groups of the* Governor-General's family and staff on arrival, and after four years in New Zealand. Large orders for extra copies have already been received and the issue is sure to sell out quickly. Those desiring copies should order them at once. The usual price, ninepence, is being charged
