OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.

A HELENSVILLE BAKERY.

BUILDING COMPLETELY GUTTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HELENSVILLE. Sunday. Fire destroyed the bakery of Messrs. J. Williams and Company, at Helensville, at one o'clock yesterday morning. The building, a brick one, was burned right out, only the walls and chimney remaining standing.

It was soma time before the brigade was able to play water on the flames, but fortunately there was no wind, otherwise the fire might have spread to a house adjoining. The cause of the outbreak is not known. The building and contents were not insured.

FARMHOUSE DESTROYED.

OROPI SETTLER'S HOME.

A fire at Oropi last evening resulted in the total destruction of a farmhouse a*.d contents, belonging to Mr. G. Wallace. The house was insured for £100 in the State Office, and the contents for a similar amount in the same office.

BLAZE IN WELLINGTON.

BUILDING IN LAMBTON QUAY.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. A fire occurred in Lambton Quay early this morning in a building owned by Mr. Robert Hannah. It was insured in the New Zealand Office for £2800.

The building and contents were badly damaged. The occupants were Abraham Tossman (furrier), Mrs. Lusy Katherine Oxspring (ladies' tailor), and Philip Tossman (hairdresser and tobacconist). Abraham Tossman has a policy in the Northern Office for £1870; Philip Tossman is insured in the Sun Office for £1100: and Mrs. Oxspring in the Commercial Office for £5767.

HUNTLY DWELLING RAZED.

OWNER A HEAVY LOSER. [by. telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Suudaj. An unoccupied five-roomed house, situated at Huntly, and owned by Mr. W. Brydon, of Hamilton, was totally destroyed by fire last evening. The house was being renovated, and when the workmen left everything appeared to be secure. There was no water supply available, and tho building was razed to the ground. Mr. Brydon has a policy of £500 in the State Firo Office, but he is a heavy loser. Tho painting contractor, Mr. A. Brewer, of Ngaruawahia, and his employee, Mr. L. Dobbinson, lost their tools and a considerable quantity of clothing.
