RESUMPTION OF TRAFFIC.
ROAD AND RAILWAY OPEN.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. J CARTERTON. Friday. The first train from Wellington since Friday last arrived in Carterton at 11.11 a.m. to-day, on schedule time. The early train did not run from Wellington, hot commenced its journey at Cross Creek.
A full service is expected to-morrow. The new work over the washout is entirely successful.
The Rimutaka Roiid is now open for motor-cars, but lorries and other heavy vehicles are prohibited.
