THE BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP.

Oct. 1L The United States Secretary to the Navy, Mr. Curtis Wilbur, characterises the projected Australian oruise of the American Navy as another step toward cementing the bonds of friendship between the two countries. He states that the officers and men of the fleet are looking forward with great pleasure to their anticipated trip to Australia. His department shares in that pleasure, says Mr. Wilbur, and rejoices at the prospect of further cementing the bonds of friendship between the two countries by the personal contact and friendly intercourse incidental to the trip.
