MOTHER'S LEAP FOR LIFE.
BABY THROWN FROM WINDOW
When a fire broke out in her room at a two-storey house in Fitzroy, Melbourne, recently, the first thoughts of Mrs. Stella Daniels were for her baby. She could not get through tho door owing to the flames, so she opened the window and called out to a passer-by, threw the baby into his bands, and then jumped down herself in > night . attire. Both mother and child were uninjured. A lighted candle coming into contact with some clothing caused tho fire.
