THE SPRING SHOW.

ARRANGEMENTS IN PROGRESS

INVITATION TO MR. MASSEY.

Arrangements in connection with the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Spring Show were further discussed at a meeting of tho committee yesterday, Mr. S. Hodge presiding.

It was decided, on the motion of the chairman, that the Prime Minister be invited to open tho show, the proposal being adopted with acclamation.

The secretary announced that show schedules were now ready.

A letter was received from the Auckland Motor Association expressing regret that it would not be able to hold a motor display, as it was deemed advisable to concentrate on one such exhibition only. It was decided to ask snb-agents in Auckland and outside districts to exhibit motors.

The installation o£ electric lights in the sheds was considered, it being decided that the matter should be deferred for a year, and that in the meantime additional lamps should bo purchased. A request that a representative of the S.P.C.A. be allowed to collect for the society on the grounds during the show period was refused, it being deemed inadvisable to establish a precedent in the matter. The association is arranging an essay competition for children under 15 years of age, on the subject of " A Day at the Show."

It was reported that the Kauri Timber Company had donated £50 toward the show prize fund.
