REBATE ON INCOME TAX; ECCLESIASTICAL REVENUE. (Ueceiwd 11.45 p.m.) San. /'••••■: LONDON. July 26. ' The Ecclesiastical Commissioners made the belated discovery that the Income Tax Act authorises a rebate on all moneys received for charitable purposes, and they have begun action in the High Court claiming a refund of £1,000,000 from the Inland Revenue Department on four . income. f. The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Hewart, and Sir Charles Darling, Judge cf the King's Bench Division, have granted a rule of mandamus calling on the department to show cause why it should not refund the amount.
