BOY ADMITS THEFT.
BREACH OF HIS PROBATION.
GIVEN CHANCE TO LEARN TRADE
Three charges of theft and one of a breach of probation were admitted by a 14-year-old boy, who appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the' Juvenile Ofenders' Court on Saturday. Senior-Detective Hammond said that over £26 had been involved in the thefts, but restitution of £20 had -been made.
Mr. A. Moody said the boy could be kept out of mischief if ho was apprenticed to a trade. The juvenile probation officer said the boy lacked the will to resist temptations, but ho deserved another chance. If committed to the Auckland Probation Home he could be placed in a trade as soon as his good conduct was assured. The magistrate committed the boy to the institution and ordered his parents to contribute 7s 6d a week to his maintenance.
