BLOOD POISONING SUPERVENES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Beceived 10.55 p.m. Renter. WASHINGTON July 7. Calvin Coolidge, jun., the younger son of the President of the United States, died to-day as the result of blood poisoning. He was 17 years of age.
A week ago a small blister formed on his heel while he was playing tennis. Septic poisoning developed and the young man quickly became dangerously iIL
Surgeons performed an operation on Saturday, slitting the left leg to the bone and inserting drains to carry off the poison. The young patient's vitality sustained him through the day, but his inability to take nourishment for the several hours past induced a succession of sinking spells, from the effects of which he was unable to rally.
