RACECOURSE ACCIDENTS.
TWO JOCKEYS INJURED.
ONE SERIOUSLY HURT. [B¥ TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION. ] DUNEDIN, Sunday. A serious collision occurred in the King George Handicap at yesterday's races. When about a chain into the home stretch Bonnie Winkie slipped ; and fell and brought down Wapping. Both houses got up all right, but D. Cotton, the rider of Bonnie Winkie, had his collarbone broken.
Andrew McKay, the rider of Wapping, was found to be seriously hurt in the head, and examination seemed to disclose fracture of the skull. He was sent to the hospital for further examination. He was reported to-day .to be showing a slight improvement. The racecourse collection for the dependants of the jockey, O'Connell, who was killed on Thursday, has reached a total, of about £500.
