FAILURE OF A BUILDER.
QUESTION OF PAYMENT.
CREDITORS DISSATISFIED.
An adjourned meeting in the bankrupt estate of Albert W. Small, builder, was held yesterday, the-official.assignee, Mr. W. §. Fisher, presiding. The amount owing is £210, and'at a previous meeting it was suggested that bankrupt's father might be able to make an offer to creditors, paying £50 in cash, the balance, up to 6s 8d in the £, as the official assignee might decide. -' L , V""S ' Bankrupt stated yesterday thai although every .endeavour had biea made the money had not yet been raised by "bis father. Creditors expressed dissatisfaction that. no definite . result . had been attained, the opinion being expressed that bankrupt should have made more of an effort to meet his liabilities. The latter said he had done his utmost, v but" having no , definite direction from creditors had not known exactly what further action to take. He was wiling to pay £2 a week. •\ Some ' discussion ensued whether there were any likelihood of bankrupt's father being = able to raise a second mortgage on a • property, ;to ;be paid off in weekly / instalments by bankrupt. - It was decided that the official assignee place the , facts before the Crown ' Prosecutor.
