A good volume of business was pat. through on the ' Auckland sharemarket yesterday. In New Zealand Government securities War. Loans, 1938, were sold at £96 15s, with late buyers at £96 12s 6d, £97. The 1939 issue changed , hapds at'-£96 15s, late, buyers offering £96 12s 6d.- The 1930 issue had inquiries at £96 15s, sellers £97 ss, and the 1927 issue ' was in demand at £97 15s, sellers holding .for £98. For... most issues of New Zealand Inscribed Stock there was inquiry. ■ Soldiers' Inscribed Stock had' inquiry at - £101 2s 6d, and Soldiers' Bonds at £101. In banks National of New Zealand rights changed hands at 33s 3d, others being on offer at 33s 9d, buyers 33s 3d. Ordinary shares in the same bank were quoted at £6 18s, with no buyers. New Zealands changed hands at 52s 9d, and others were on offer at 535, buyers 52s 6d. Unions of Australia were done at £14 14s 6d, more being available at £14 16s, buyers offering £14 12s 6d. For New South Wales there -were , buyers at £40 ss, with holders at £41 ss. In insurances, New Zealands at 30s, were sought at 29s 2d, and South British at 40s 3d,were wanted at 39s 9d. . In shipping Northern Steam sold at 15s 9d, with further buyers at 15s 3d. Contributing shares in the same company had sale at 7s 6d, late sellers 7s 9d, buyers 7s 3d. Most miscellaneous lines had inquiry at late rates. Wilsons Cement sold at 295, with continued demand at 28s 6d, sellers asking 29s 6d. In mining Waihis changed hands at 31s, at which price more were available, buyers 30s lid. Business was done in Grand Junctions at 2s 8d ? at which price inquir/ was not satisfied, sellers askine 2s 9d. : ' >: . • 6
