STRIP OF PEAOH PARADE.

CITY COUNCIL'S DECISION.

The City Council last evening decided to reduce the width of Peach Parade by 14ft., for a distance of 1628 ft., provided the Auckland Racing Club would take over the strip at valuation by the city ■valuer, on the understanding that the proceeds from the sale of the strip would be devojted to improving the remainder of the street. - " • ''

The city valuer valued this piece of land, comprising about 2 roods 3 perches, and extending along the boundary of the Racing Club's property to .Ladies' Mile,, at £560. On the recommendation of the Works Committee the council decided to close the portion of the street referred to on the Racing Club agreeing to pay £560, together with the cost of closing and transfer.
