AGED MAORI DEAD.
WOMAN OF 105 YEARS.
GRAND-DAUGHTER OF CHIEF,
After attaining the great age of 105 years, Mrs. Mahurea Tauranga Meihana died at Clevedon on Tuesday. She was born at. the Sandspit, Clevedon, in 1819, and was a member of the Ngatipikiao '
tribe. Her grandfather, Itangitiki, was an Arawa chief. ■'• ; ; \ ■•
The . lata Mrs. Meihana married a native clergyman, and lived for some time at Manaia,. Cdromandel; After the death of her husband she returned to Cloved on and resided with her niece. The interment will take place to-day at the Church of England cemetery Mataitai.
