THE BEST OF EVERYTHING.
Though we sometimes _ employ the phrase "the best of everything" disparagingly when speaking .of . extravagant people,' it is nevertheless a good motto, pays, a woman writer. 'fhere is no virtue in the inferior. Some -women feel quite a glow of selfrigtiteonsness; in wearing harsh materials which -crease easily and have little Jurability. ' They. do not realise that In spending the few shillings more, which in many cases they could afford, on cloth for-their dresses, they would he improving their own economy as well as adding to the . comeliness of life generally. No Woman . ever felt her happiest, best self in clothes that carried a hint of the bljoddy. We should train ourselves to know thjp. (jest, by sight and by touch. Never, in ft mood of sham superiority, or of "sour trapes," should we decry what is essentially excellent. It may not be for us, i.nd " certain it is that it will, never be for us, if we do not give it its due. Those i.ho faithfully prefer the best, the best lias a kind/little way of blessing eventually. . I Blessing? Perhaps the word seems Inappropriate in connection with material things. But have you never felt the silent benediction of a beautiful building, even if a living room that is perfectly right J1 its atmosphere and in every detail ? 01 course, we have to be very sure kbc'Ut what is the best in everything. .
