THE DAIRYING SEASON.
[Bl TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Tuesday. With a view to securing improved road facilities between Gordon ton and Hamilton, several meetings of settlers have been held at Gordonton and Puketalia,. A bitumen road wafe discussed but was not entertained bv some of the settlers. Later it was suggested that a bitumen road be laid from the borough boundary to the Puketaha turn-off, a section which would benefit the Puke-taha-Gordonton and Piako Road equally, f A further conference is to be field with the idea of getting united action The final stages of the dairying season have , been marked by exceptionally favourable weather and feed conditions. .
A travelling dairy instructor stated to-day that he had never seen such «•» abundance of feed for this time of the . year in the Hamilton, Morrinsville, Bay of Plenty, and King Country districts Although the winter is well'under way no frosts have yet been experienced; • remarkable fact. ' ?'■ Interviewed to-day, the managing ' director of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company said farmers had ' every reason to be pleased with the way , production was being maintained.
