The official Labour organ, the Daily Herald, states that a national strike, affecting 500,000 building trade workers, appears to be inevitable. The men rejected the employers' offer of £d an hour increase in wages instead of the 2d an hour demanded. They then voted in favour of a strike. The date of the strike has been fixed, but has not yet been disclosed.
