MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
BOUNDARY ROADS QUESTION.
The Mount' £1/skill Road Board met last evening. There were present" Messrs. E. J. Herd, S. Scarborough, E. Brewer, G. E. Tansley, J. H. Cooper, ' and S. M. Farrelly. ■.. /:
Mr. Tansley was elected chairman for the seventh year in succession. He said the re-election of the retiring members of the board was an endorsement of its policy. ; . The city engineer, Mr. W„ E. Bush, advised that in response to complaints as to the condition of tlie roads on the boundary between Mount Rpskill and the city, he had prepared estimates of reairing same. Selwyn Road • would cost £76, or £119, if the roadway was tarred and sanded. The Drive would coat £325 or £472, if tarred' a nd sanded. Landscape Road would require £45 to repair the bad places. It was decided to reply that the board is not prepared to spend more than £100 on the boundary roads this year. The building inspector reported that building; permits for 10 dwellings arid various . additions, amounting :to £9575, had been granted during the past fortnight. \ The board's engineer reported that the pipe-laying contract would require to be delayed, as the water pipes were on the Matatua, damaged in collision. They had been transhipped, and would arrive about the first week in June. ' 1 H
