CRIES FOR HELP HEARD.
UNSUCCESSFUL SEARCH.
An apparent drowning fatality occurred off the Northoote Point last night, shortly before 11 o'clock. Three Northcoto Residents were walking along the road at about 10.45 p.m., when they heard cries for help coming from the water. They immediately put out in a dinghy, , the cries meantime becoming fainter and fainter. The men searched the locality for over half-an-hour, bat could find no trace of anybody.
