THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.
Sir, — think this an opportune time to make a suggestion re the National Anthem. Could the Anthem not be played at the beginning of all entertainments instead of at the end ? At present it is played at the conclusion of picture, and most other, entertainments, amid a stampede for cars, boats, or other means of getting home. How few stand at attention is sad to see. How very different is the scene at the Town Hall, when the city organist opens the organ recitals with the National Anthem. It is positively inspiring. The present custom of playing " God Save the King" at the conclusion of entertainments is teaching the young folk to think it is a sign to rush out. Loyal Citizen.
