PROGRESS AT TE AROHA. [BX TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA Saturday. The proposed appointment of a veterinary surgeon for the Te Aroha district was further discussed at a meeting of farmers. The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. H. E. D. Willcox, occupied the chair. Mr. Clark, president of the Elstow branch of the Farmers' Union, stated that as the result of a canvass no fewer than 135 farmers had agreed to become members of the association, and suggested that an endeavour should bo made to build the membership up to 200, It was stated that a salary of £500 was required. The meeting decided that a club be formed, and that an effort be made to obtain a membership of 200, the membership fee to be £2 10s if the number were secured, and pro rata for smaller numbers.
