TO POISON RABBITS.
CARROTS WITH STRYCHNINE AN EFFECTIVE REMEDY. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. The use of carrots in conjunction with strychnin© for poisoning rabbits has resulted in many inquiries being received by growers round about Christchurch for supplies of the vegetable. It is stated that Government officers concerned with the control of the rabbit have recommended this method of destroying the pest." Some untreated carrots are put out one night and the following night a supply that has been treated with strychnine. 'jfhe demand for carrots would appear to indicate that the method is successful. The present prices are reported to range from £3 10s to £4 a ton.
