TO-DAY'S EDITION. NORTH AUCKLAND FLOODS. A comprehensive pictorial record of the havoc wrought by floods during last weekend in various districts of Auckland Province is published in the illustrated section of the Auckland Weekly News, on sale to-day. Staff men and specially commissioned photographers have contributed striking pictures that tell the story of the disaster most vividly. AH the areas where the severest effects of the sudden deluge were felt are well, covered, showing damage to railways, roads, bridges and farm lands on a very serious scale. In view of the keen public interest in the visitation nearly six pages are devoted to the subject.

Other, items of general interest are by no means neglected. There are photographs of the Reid family, of Nortncote, and their 18-ton yacht Vision, in which they will shortly leave for an extended cruise among the South Sea Islands. Further New Zealand subjects include the New Plymouth High School cadets in camp; Lady Jellicoe presenting the Trentham Gold Cup to the owner of Ballymena; trout fishing at Taupo and a good selection of snapshots from the New Zealand Golf Association's championship tourney for professionals, held recently at Nelson, Among a bright miscellany of pictures received by the latest overseas mails are the —American aviators accorded a farewell by the President of the United States, prior to their departure on a flight round the world; record crowds visiting H.M.S. Hood at Melbourne; Canadians win ice hockey championship of the world at Chamonix; the world's largest aerial bomb, and novel training for cyclists at Amsterdam.
