OBITUARY.

MR. JOSEPH THOMAS. [»T XXLEXSBA7H. — COnEESrONOEKr.3 TO AKOHA. Tuesday. A well-known resident of this district, Mr. Joseph Thomas, died suddenly last evening. Deceased, who has for the last seven years been employed by the wow Zealand Bacon and Meat Packing Company, was on his usual round of the country districts. At about 2 pjn., at Manararu, when about to leave a car to call on a client, Mr. A Hirst, he had a seizure, and fell heavily to the roadside. He was taken to Mr. Hirst's residence, and medical aid was summoned, but death, took place about 10.30 p.m. Mr. Thomas, who was 53 years of age, was born at Leeds, Yorkshire, and came to New Zealand 16 years ago. He leaves a wife and two married daughters, Mrs. J. McGregor and Mrs. Slycope, both of whom reside in Auckland.
