Reuter. liONDON, Mar. 19. In the House of Commons Mr. 0. G. Amman, Under-Secretary to the Admiralty, in reply to a question said that the expenditure in connection with the Singapore base *so far had amounted to £70,000. A further sum would be incurred in connection with the closing down of the schem«.
The reports of the naval experts ' who had advised the Government in regard to the matter would not be circulated. As regards the question whether such steps were to be taken as would necessitate the starting of the work afresh if the Government's successors reverse its decision Mr. Ammon said the details in regard to the closing down work were now being considered.
