The pastures in this district have never looked better than to-day. This is due to the rucent moist weather and accompanying high temperature, which has had a wonderful effect in promoting the growth of grass. The maize crops are very promising, and excellent grain yields are expected on the mainland farms and on Matakana and Motiti Islands. , The fine weather this week has been fully availed of by many farmers for the cutting and harvesting of lucerne.
