GASWORKERS' AGREEMENT.
INTERPRETATION DISPUTE. UNION AND COMPANIES. A number of points in connection with the working of the agreement made under the Labour Disputes Investigation Act between the Auckland : Gas Employees' Union and the Auckland Gas Company and the Birkenhead and Northcote Gas Company last October, were involved in proceedings' before Mr, E. C. Cutten, S.M., in the Magistrate's , Court yesterday. The union, represented by Mr. Tuck, proceeded against the two companies for penalties of £10 .for several alleged breaches of the agreement. Mr. H. P. Richmond appeared for the companies. The point at issue in nearly all cases was the status of certain men and the pay to which they were entitled under the agreement. Decision v was reserved in all cases.
