Following a conference between the Municipal Council . and the Trades and Labour Council, the Broken Hill strike has been settled and all the services are resuming immediately. ' COKE FROM BRITAIN. EFFECT OF LOCAL STRIKE. . SYDNEY. Mar. 12. As a result of the strike of coke workers additional supplies 'of 'coke have' been arranged for overseas. There are now over 20,000 tons of British coke afloat for Australia, which normally would have been supplied locally. THE WHANGAPE COLLISION. * SYDNEY, Mar. 12. At the inqiury regarding the collision of the Whangape and Kooyong on Feb- : ruary2B, the Marine Board found that it was caused by an error of judgment on the part .Wilfred Eyre, master of the Whangape. Nothing else was 4 found against him and ' his certificate ~ was returned. No costs were awarded. TASatAJTCAH LIQUOR DUTY. HOB ART., Mar. 12. The Assembly passed a Bill imposing a, duty of 4£ per cent, on all liquor consumed, with ISie object of raising additional revenue, which, it is expected, will amount to £130,000. ' 1 .
