RECORD LOW BIRTH RATE
ENGLAND AND WALES. INFANT MORTALITY REDUCED. . Eeuter. LONDON. Feb. 22. The birthrate for 1923 in England and Wales was 19.7 per thousand, wlich is the lowest recorded except for the war years of 1917-1919, but was compensated for by the fact that the death rate (11.6) and the infant mortality (6.9) were both the lowest recorded.
