GREAT FIRE IN JAPAN.
400 HOUSES DESTROYED. A. and N.Z. TOKIO, Feb. 22. The Emperor's villa at Nuraadzu, where the Emperor and Empress are in residence, was threatened by a midnight fire, which destroyed 400 surrounding houses. Five hundred police, forming a special guard to the Royal family, prevented the fire spreading to the villa. Incendiarism is suspected.
