PIGEON RACING.
THE AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Racing Pigeon Club held a race from Tanmarunui. an airline, distance of 145 miles, on Saturday. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster in a light, northerly wind. Mr. N. Waddell supplied the winner, just beating Mr. J. Slater by one yard. The results are ast follows: N. Waddoll's b c c Douglas Hop©. 822 yds per minute, 1; G. Slater's b c c Royston Finance. 821 yds, 2; A. Ryan's b oh Virginia, 810 yds, 3; A. Euesden's boh Hang Out, 804yda: Skinner and Cammick's r c h Bed Cent. 795.5yd5; W. Guyan's b c h Matho Ron*. 785 yds. Seventy birds, representing 12 lofts, competed. Next weeK the club holds a race from Ohakune. Serious raoing is just commencing now. DOMINION HOMING CLUB. The Dominion Homing Club flew their third young bird race, from To Awamutu on Saturday,' under unfavourable weather condition*, The birds were liberated in a strong "south-west wind, and after a hard fly the winner turned out to be Mr. 8. Crocker's bluo cheq.. hen. Amethyst, with a velocity of 811 yards. The following are the results::— Crocker's boh Amethyst, 811 yds, 1; W. Brown's oh, Baronette, 807 yds. 2; Potter and Jackson's o c h Ladv Specialist, 807 yds. 8; C. Bridge's b oh Wah-ere. 7Ssyds. 4; .E. Gilmorg. 6; L. C*ntell. 6; E. J. Hipwell. 7. Sixty birds competed. ' PREMIER FLYING CLUB. ' The Premier Flying Club flew their fourth young bird race from Taumarunm, and considering tho strong northerly wind, the winner put up a fair velocity.
