GOVERNMENT RECEPTION.
DEMOCRATIC ASSEMBLY.

The usual brilliant dinners and receptions on the eve of Parlijment were given by Conservative and Liberal hostesses.
Mrs. Noel Buxton was the Government hostess. Nearly 1000 guests assembled ait Hyde Park hotel, where a democratic note was struck by the wearing of morning dress by the entire company at the requeist of. the hostess,
The guests included peers and many other titled people, who mingled with Ministers and lifelong workers in ' the Labour cause. The rooms were decorated with red fowers.
