THE EMPIRE EXHIBITION.. " 1 ARRANGEMENT OF DISPLAY. . The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board is taking full advantage of the British Empire Exhibition, to show not only to Great Britain, but to the world generally what the Dominion can produce in the way of prime lamb, mutton, beef and pork. The board also intends to do extensive advertising in other directions, and special displays will be made in the different departmental stores, such as the Army and Navy, Harrod's, Whiteley'e. and Shoolbred's. also in the larger retail shops. The board fully recognises that this is & splendid opportunity of getting into direct touch with the consumer, and no effort or cost is being spared to make these exhibits worthy of the Dominion. _ ' s , The main i display of meat at the exhibition will be shown in two refrigerated cabinets. In one of these .cabinets will be shown a massed display of lamb, mutton, beef. pork.. and frozen sundries, arranged m pyramidical form, while the other cabinet will contain a special display of the primest lambs produced in the Dominion. In the special lamb cabinet each hanging carcase will revolve so as to, attract attention, and also' to show a full view of its shape and quality. In the centre, or background, of the cabinet will be shown a 60 ? ri °, of undulating pastoral country typical of our Dominion, A running stream and other natural scenery will also be introduced. On . this pasture will be seen wellbred lambs in different attitudes. The mutton and beef to be shown in the massed display cabinet has been carefully selected, and special oare has been given to the dressing. The board is also making a npecial display of pork, in the way of well-bred porkers and baconers. ten pigs being specially j a l? by the New Zealand Meat Packing and Bacon Co., Ltd., for the purpose. There will bo shown different varieties of frozen sundries, and other by-products from freezing works, such as canned meats and tallow. A film depicting every stage connected with the frozen meat industry will form a valuable adiunot to the publicity campaign, which will be carried out at the exhibition, and later on throughout different parts of Great Britain. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was satisfactory. A section next to the library, in Victoria street, with a 38ft. frontage, was sold to Dr. A. S. Brewis for £800.
