Dalgety and Company, limited are in receipt of the following cablegram from their London Otfioe under date of February 7: — Frozen Meat.—New Zealand prime lama crossbred : Canterbury, heavy 9id. light 10Jd; North Island, heavy did, light lOd. Demand for New Zealand lamb, moderate and market weaker. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton: Canterbury, heavy and light not quoted: North Island, heavy 7|d, light ■Sid. Demand for New Zealand mutton has been checked by increased prices, and market dull but sellers are firm. New Zealand prime ox beef: Hinds 4d, fores Sid. Demand for New Zealand beef active and market firm. Good average quality crossbred lamb: Australian, heavy Bd, light lOid; good average quality crossbred mutton: Australian, heavy Old, light 7d. .Demand,. for Australian lamb runs principally on light weights. Demand for Australian mutton fair. MARKET REPORTS. FRUIT AND PRODUCE. The dry weather is havinc a beneficial effect on fruit so far as dry rot is concerned and the disease is being kept in check. Fruit generally is plentiful on the Auckland market, apples, pears, tomatoes and grapes coming forward in abundance. Bine bananas have fallen in price. On, the produce market good potatoes are difficult to obtain. Eggs have risen in price. The following prices were realised at yesterday's sales:— FRUIT. Dessert apples were in demand at from 8* to 8s a case for good qualities and from 4» to 6s for second grades and cookers. Bon Chretien pears realised from 7a to Bs, other varieties and cookers selling at from 4s to Co. Good quality peaches fetched from G» to Bs, and second quality from 4s to 6s. Nectarines realised similar prices. Choice plums sold at from 6s 6d to 8« 6d, other grades from 4s to C». Ripe bananas brought From 15s to 20s, poorer qualities fetching from Gs to 12s, Plums brought from 12» to 16a. Graded lemons realised from l€s to 225, poor qualities selling at from 7s to 10s. Number 1 grade tomatoes fetched from 2s to 8s and other grade*, from Is to- Is 9d. Hamburg grapes met with a ready sale at from 7d to Is a lb. and Colemans at from Is 3d to Is 9d. Cape gooseberries realised from 5d to 6d. ______ PRODUCE. Potatoes free from blight or rust sold at from 8s Cd to < 10s a cwt„ poorer qualities being hard to quit. Onions fetched 9s to 9s 6d, pumpkins 8s 6» to 10s a, cwt., and n cabbages 10s a sack. Prices for other lines of produce were as follows:—Kumaras, 2fd to 3d a. lb; peas. 4d to 6d; beans, 3d to Jdj lettuce. Is 6d to 3s a dozen; vegetable marrows, 2s to 6s; rhubarb, Is Gd to 2s: cucumbers. Hen eggs were in keen demand at from Is 8d to Is 9d a dozen; duck eggs realised from Is Gd to Is 7d a dozen, and farmers' butter from Is 3d to ,1s 7d a lb, POULTRY. Heavy cockerels realised from 4s to 6s, light cockerels from 2s to 4s, with a few small birds selling at from Is to 2e. Heavy hens brought from 2s to 3s, light hens from Is 3d to 2», old dunks from Is 3d to 2s, and young'ducks from Is 9d to 3s Gd. PROPERTY SALES. T. Mandeno Jackson, in conjunction with W. B. Lloyd and Co., will hold an important sale by publio auction of Mangere sections on the ground, Maasey Road, Mangere, this afternoon. The Mangere Central Estate, comprising 89 elevated sections, each commanding a good view, will be submitted on easy term;*, 5 per cent, cash, 5 per cent, in six months, 5 per cent, in 12 months, and the balar.ee in three years at 6 per cent.
