ANNIVERSARY REGATTA.

PRELIMINARY ARRANGEMENTS A meeting of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta Committee was held last evening, Mr. T. M. Alexander presiding over ' a good attendance.

The chairman reported that funds were now beginning to come in, but mere col- ' lectors were required to make the regatta a financial success. Tho Auckland Swimming Centre intimated that it would again take over the swimming portion of the programme and it was agreed to donate the same prizes as last year. Some' discussion took place over the speed-boats, and it was resolved to hold a special meeting next Monday to go into the matter. The general feeling of the members present was that last years course was unsatisfactory both from the spectators' and competitors' joint of Entry night was fixed for Monday, January 21, at the Chamber of Commerce,, Swanson Street.
