NEW LIFE GIVEN TO GAME.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. cßecd. 8.5 p.m.) LONDON. Dec. 15.
Commander Davies, ex-captain of England, who is described as the greatestmatch winner in t.he history of the game, refers in his book, "Rugby Football," to the remarkable progress of the game in the Dominions, and adds that the value of visits by Dominion teams to Britain cannot be over-estimated. Finer points of the game are invariably brought out, public in. terest is stimulated, and a higher standard of play results. Mr. B. Dennison, the leading English authority on Rugby, contributes an appreciation in which he emphasises the value of the lesson taught English Rugby by the amazing Gallaher and his equally amazing All Blacks. He adds: "Our Rugby conscience was so 'hurt by their ruthless exposure of our weaknesses that we set out to give the grand old game new life, and we have succeeded undoubtedly."
