CANADA'S GOLD WEALTH
DUKE AS PROSPECTOR.
ENTHUSIASTIC REPORT.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Seed. 4.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 14. The Duke of Manchester, on arriving from Canada, said that he went there to prospect for gold, - and was astonished at what he found. Canada had a gold belt at - least 1200 mile® long . and 200 miles broad. So far 100,000 acres had been plotted out, which means that the field had been only scratched. He was of opinion that Canada would find it more profitable to develop goldmining than to grow cereals. He had obtained a claim in Northern Quebec.
